Dina | Ardea Alba – Frysian & Iranian folk
Where Frysian meets Persian, and musical traditions from Europe and the Middle East converge, the result is not contrast but recognition. It is precisely in the differences that we can hear how much we have in common. Music proves to be a language that connects, transcending borders, origins, and words.
Ardea Alba, Latin for ‘the great egret’, serves as the starting point for this musical adventure. The great egret lives on various continents and symbolizes connection: between landscapes, cultures and stories.
As Sonic Storyteller, Dina from Friesland, together with two Iranian musicians, Sougol & Bamsar, creates musical landscapes in which poetry, spoken word, and music merge. The work moves between the earthly and the imaginative, between silence and sound, and invites us to encounter something greater than ourselves. Ardea Alba’s tranquil compositions meet the rich tradition of Persian music, creating space for improvisation, dialogue, and new soundscapes. This concert is an invitation to listen to what emerges when different worlds truly meet.
